Wir haben nun eine zweite Testreihe einiger unterschiedlicher Server Virtualisierungssoftware der Softwarehersteller Citrix, VMware und die OpenSource Project Software OpenVZ durchgeführt. Diesmal auf einen modernen Intel Plattform da das Ergebnis auf älterer 2 Core Prozessoren sehr seltsam ausgefallen ist.
Das Testsystem stellt sich zusammen aus:
- Mainbaord: ASUS P7P55D Deluxe
- Prozessor: Intel i7-860 4×2.80 Ghz
- Grafikkarte: ASUS EN9800GT 1G
- Ram: 4 mal 2 GB Kingston KHX1600C9D3K2 1600 MHz DDR3
- Adaptec 5405 mit 4 mal 1TB SATA Platten Raid 10
Getestet wurde wieder folgende Software:
- Citrix XenServer 5.6
- VMWare ESXi 4.1
- VMWare Server 1.0.10
- VMWare Server 2.0.2
- OpenVZ + KVM (Proxmox VE)
Die extrem schlechten Ergebnisse von Citrix XenServer 5.6 wie bei den Test auf älterer Hardware oder dem Test auf neuer AMD Hardware haben sich nicht wiederholt.
Bei dieser Testreihe kam das beste und schlechteste Ergebnis aus dem gleichen Haus. VMWare ESXi 4.1 hat die besten Ergebnisse gebracht und der VMWare Server 1.0.10 die schlechtesten.
Im Test sind je 2 Tests für jedes System zu sehen. Es wurde immer eine VM mit Windows XP und eine mit Debian 5 32bit gleichzeitig betrieben. Einmal war die XP VM im Leerlauf und einmal wurde sie mit CPU Burn auf 100% CPU Last belastet.
